The Nevada legislature adjourned last night, after an eventful session.

We'll have a full wrap-up of issues that NFA worked on but its important at the moment for all faculty to be aware of the full text of section 5 of SB 433 (which addressed state employee salary cuts for NSHE academic and professional staff):

5. The Board of Regents of the University of Nevada shall
determine and implement the method by which:
(a) The professional employees of the Nevada System of Higher
Education will participate in the furlough requirement pursuant to
this section; or
(b) The overall costs for the professional employees of the
Nevada System of Higher Education will be reduced in an amount at
least equal to the savings which would have otherwise been
produced by furlough leave pursuant to this section.
