Nevada Faculty Alliance slate of candidates who support higher-education

There's no need to elaborate on the point -- this fall's elections will be crucial for the future of higher education in Nevada.

With so many seats up for grabs and with so many crucial decisions to be made in 2011 on the state and federal budgets for higher education, on tuition and financial aid for students; on whether Nevada addresses its desperate need for economic diversification by enhancing the educational level of its workforce, on whether we maintain current levels of service for students or have to close programs and campuses and turn students away, on whether faculty and staff and their families have to sustain unprecedented cuts in compensation and health benefits, on NSHE policies concerning a wide range of curricular matters ....anyone concerned with higher education should be voting this November for candidates who will make higher education a priority.

To encourage voters to support candidates who support higher education, the Nevada Faculty Alliance PAC has endorsed the following candidates and urges its members, all faculty and staff, all students and their parents, all supporters of higher education in the community, and all Nevadans to vote for our endorsed candidates.

Early voting runs from Saturday October 16 through Friday October 29. On October 19, 20 and 21, there will be a mobile early vote location at Lied Library on the UNLV campus.

Election Day is Tuesday November 2.
