UNLV NFA meeting Thursday: legislature, budget, code changes on agenda

Dear UNLV NFA members,

This message is to remind you of a general membership meeting tomorrow, Thursday, at 1:30pm in room 105 of the Boyd School of Law. The meeting is open to all current and prospective members.

We will discuss : an update on legislative developments important to UNLV faculty (including the current status of the budget debate), potential for curricular review, and the proposed changes to the System Code effecting curricular review (summary of bullet points here, task force report here, and proposed code changes here).

Please also note the NFA is collaborating with the Student Alliance (a coalition of student government and activist groups around the state) to focus on reaching out to specific legislators. This week's focus is on Senator Michael Roberson.

Finally look for the important next issue of the Alliance in your mailbox soon. A sneak peek may be had here.

In solidarity,

Gregory Brown
Professor, Department of History, UNLV

President, UNLV Faculty Alliance
Vice-President, Nevada Faculty Alliance
Co-chair, NFA PAC
